Requirements & documents

What do I need to rent a car?

Three simple things: you must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license (held for at least one year), and have your passport on hand. A credit or debit card in the main driver's name is used for the security deposit.

That's it — no local paperwork, no notarized translations. We handle the rest at pickup.

Do I need an international driving permit?

In most cases, no. A valid driver's license from your home country (in the Latin alphabet) is accepted in the Dominican Republic for tourists.

If your license is in a non-Latin script (for example Arabic, Japanese or Cyrillic), we recommend bringing an International Driving Permit as a courtesy translation. When in doubt, send us a photo of your license on WhatsApp and we'll confirm in minutes.

What is the minimum age to rent?

The main driver must be 21 or older with a license held for at least 12 months. There is no young-driver surcharge — the price you see is the price you pay.

Insurance, deposit & payment

Is insurance included?

Yes. Every rental includes mandatory liability coverage, and our quoted rates already bundle in collision protection so you're covered from the moment you drive off — no hidden add-ons at the counter.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes — a refundable security deposit is held on a credit or debit card at pickup, with the amount depending on the vehicle category. It is simply held (not charged) and released in full when you return the car in the same condition.

What payment methods do you accept?

You choose: pay securely online with Visa or Mastercard when you reserve, or reserve now and pay on arrival. We also accept cash (USD or Dominican pesos) at handover.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup — no fees, no questions asked. Plans change, and your booking should flex with them.

Pickup, delivery & driving

Do you deliver to the airport with meet-and-greet?

Absolutely. We meet you right at Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) arrivals holding a sign with your name, hand over the keys, and you're driving away before the taxi line even moves. We also deliver to your hotel or villa across Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Bávaro and La Romana.

What is the fuel policy?

Simple and fair: same-to-same. You receive the car with a set fuel level and return it at the same level. No refueling charges, no inflated gas prices.

Is mileage unlimited?

Yes — unlimited mileage on every rental. Drive as far as the island takes you without watching the odometer.

Can I drive to other provinces?

Of course. You're free to explore the whole country — Saona, Santo Domingo, Samaná, the mountains and beyond. We just ask that you let us know your plans so we can recommend the best routes and keep our 24/7 support ready if you need it.

What about tolls?

The Dominican Republic has a few highway toll booths (for example on the road toward Santo Domingo). Tolls are paid by the driver in cash and are inexpensive — we'll tell you exactly which routes have them so you can keep small bills handy.

Are child seats available?

Yes. We offer infant, toddler and booster seats on request for both car rentals and VIP transfers. Just tell us your child's age when you book and the seat will be fitted and ready at pickup.
